Workplace Vaccinations

Workplace Vaccinations

Every year, workers miss an average of 4.6 days of work as a result of sickness, with the top reason being Flu.

Why should I protect my employees?

Seasonal viruses affect around 15-20% of the population, and cost the UK economy over £29 billion every year. On an individual basis, absence through flu costs businesses an average of £522 per person
Our Workplace Vaccination helps keep both your employees and business healthy.

Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is a highly infectious virus that can cause flu-like symptoms, yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice), tummy pain, diarrhoea, feeling and being sick, and a loss of appetite. It is spread through blood and bodily fluids and treatment depends on how long you have had the virus for. The best way to protect against hepatitis B is to get a vaccination and stay up-to-date with vaccines

If your employees are health workers, and regularly vaccinate, take blood or come into contact with body fluids, it is recommended that they are immunised against hepatitis B. If suitable, we can prescribe a course of 3 vaccines that they will receive over 6 months.

We can provide:

  • Hepatitis B vaccination - £40

  • Hepatitis B course - £120

Pneumonia

Pneumonia is similar to Flu in the sense that anyone can catch it, causing an employee to be off work for a while. Which will inevitably cause a loss to your business. Easily transmitted in offices, Pneumococcal infections can lead to illnesses such as:
  • pneumonia (lung infection)
  • ear infection
  • meningitis (infection of the brain and spinal cord)
  • septicaemia (a type of blood poisoning)
  • sinus infections

Severe infections cause brain damage, or even death. The vaccine protects your staff against pneumococcal infections and the complications it can cause.

We can provide:

  • The pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV)
  • The pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPV)
